This program is on sale at many steam locomotive, restoration societies and museums. It is also available through some catalogues or by post via the Internet. It has limited availability on the high street.
Now version 1.09
Version 1.05 and earlier used video drivers that were not supplied as standard on Windows98 machines and therefore sometimes require the video driver supplied on the CD to be installed.
In version 1.06 only, some reworking of the video clips resulted in additional frames being added to the journey 1 video. This means that unfortunately you cannot reach the station but must stop just before the end of the journey to obtain a clean stationmaster's report. These synchronisation problems only occur with video 1 and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The levers can be moved by either clicking and dragging the lever or clicking on the right or left hand side of the pivot.
You need to select the experienced driver section by clicking on the blue overalls. Select any journey option in the timetables and at the setup screen click on the scheduled service button, with the small image of a stationmaster.
While driving the locomotive you should see various signals and signs appear in the small window. You must also follow the rules that are explained in the regulation book.
As the journey is complete ie. the small locomotive at the top of the screen reaches the end, you will automatically be taken to the stationmasters office. This will report on your driving performance.
Yes. We have already produced a simulation of Stephenson's Rocket in which you can compete in the Rainhill Trial.
We would also be happy to produce other versions if any new track videos becomes available.
